Hello Everyone,

Welcome to my next project for Couture Creations using the

'Blooming Friendship' Ephemera Set.

This collection has some lovely delicate blues and rich deep red florals.  The collection name says it all, flowers are like friends - you can never have too many.  I thought I would try to make a couple of cards mainly using the 'Ephemera' Die-cut set because you don't need a lot of tools to make something nice with this pack.

I started by sifting through the pack and picking out pieces that would look nice together.  I thought I would do a 'blue' and 'red' card.  

There are lots of elements - I had to restrain myself with only choosing a few. (The pieces on the right was for a card that I didn't add to this post).  I inked all the edges with blue dye ink. 

On the blue cardstock, I created some interest to the background by partially stamping the 'crackle' stamp with 3 of the 'Stayz' Alcohol Inks. These inks have a lovely sheen/shine to them - very nice!  

I selected and cut out one of the panels from page 6A of the Paper collection pad. I trimmed cardstock for a mat and a label, inked all the edges with brown dye ink and glued cardboard behind them.  I added foam squares behind the sentiment.

Arranged all the pieces and glued them in place.

I couldn't resist adding a touch of glitter to each of them.  So I put a drop into the centres of the sequences, on the stamens, on the edges of the red flower petals and on the label edge.

Welcome to my next project for Couture Creations using the

'Vintage Flowers' Collection.

This Collection has 4 different 'Cut & Create Dies'.  These dies are for foiling but as you will see they are multi-functional.  Each of the 3 cards use the 'Floral Frame' as the base on which each of the 3 flower arrangements are placed.  I played around with the flowers using mostly the new 'Fluoro' Alcohol Inks.  As you know there are no 'rules' with creating, it's the surprise you get by trying something different.  So here goes...

CARD 1 - using the 'STANDING DAISIES' dies

I started by die cutting the daisies using the 'Go Cut & Emboss' platform and new 'Water Colour' Paper for this - worked a treat.  The elements cut sharply and embossed beautifully.

I left the die-cuts in the paper strip while I painted them with 3 fluro alcohol inks - Green, Yellow & Pink.   

I put drops of the colours onto the glass mat and used a blending tip to brush paint the flowers.  The inks dried fast which was good because I could keep adding layers of colour until I was happy with the result.

Next I added foam squares under all the die-cut pieces, tied a bow and added a couple of adhesive gems along the centre of the butterfly.  I gently curled the wings of the butterfly to give a more dimentional look. 

I glued the silver glitter card (backed with cardboard) to the card base.  The Floral frame die was cut from matte silver card, this layered on top of the glitter card.  This was my base that I used - the embossing was just beautiful.

CARD 2 - using the ' Layered CAMELIA' Dies

 

I wanted to try dropping/spraying alcohol inks onto the watercolour paper to see what would happen.  I have a short video clip below showing what I was up to doing this.

Once it was dry (not long) I just cut the dies from the paper.

CARD 3 - using the 'Zinnia' Dies

I was curious how the fluro inks would look like on black card, so I had a play. The colours remained true even on black!

A close-up of the Zinnia card.  I added the blue glitter card and the orange cardstock matting to try and lift this card as before it ended up too silver.

Anyway this was just one way to play with this lovely set of dies and beautiful vibrant alcohol inks.  Hope it sparkes some interest for you to have a go.

'Merry Christmas' Card

Welcome to my next project for Couture Creations using the

'CHARMING XMAS' -Precious Marieke Collection

This is a 'Pop-out' Decoupage Sheet that has 3 separate layered images to use.  It is a very quick way to create a very pretty layered card.

 

I started by gathering various components together.  This was the initial idea and as usual I kept adding more as the card evolved.

You can use any of your stash of supplies that you have on hand to do this card.

I prepped the elements - die-cutting, trimming the card stock to a size you are happy with, embossed the red card using the 'small dots' embossing folder, inking the edges, and backed the elements using either double-sided foam or cardboard.

It was just a matter of layering all the elements together.  Instead of putting the top bow on the layer, I just used it as an offset feature.  I added a bit of muslin behind the feature piece and dabbled silver Glitzin Glamour on some of the edges.

Australian Warratah Stamp Card CCDT 0819

Welcome to my next project for Couture Creations using the lovely Sunburnt Country Collection   We have some wonderful native flowers and foliage in our country, it's great to be able to showcase them.  Hope there is something that interests you with this card.

 1.  All the elements prepared and ready for assembly.

The Firefly cardstock was trimmed, embossed with the Gumnut embossing folder before the edges where inked and distressed.
The other papers were trimmed to size, inked with Pale Brown and distressed.  The stamp was stamped with Pale Brown ink and painted with pink and green inks listed below.  The Die-cuts were all cut out and inked randomly with a touch of Cappuccino ink.

 2. Add double-sided tape to the backs of all cardboard and paper pieces

3. I used the Pearlescent inks as highlights on the tips of the petals and down the centre of the leaves.  Around the outside of the warratah flower I smudged the Platinum white to try to give a bit of depth to the image.

4. Adding cardboard as backing on the mats gives you plenty of space to add trimmings of lace, muslin and foliage.

5. I offset the 2 dragonfly die-cuts to make it appear 3D.  I added a hint of lace between the layers at the bottom, and a touch of muslin between the layers at the top. The adhesive pearls on the dragonfly and at the right of the stamp just felt right to put there.  The string was wrapped around all the mats, a bow was tied then it was all  adhered to the card front.

Creating History Together Butterfly Card - CCDT 1820

'Creating Memories Together Butterfly Card'

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to my next project for Couture Creations using the
 'Steampunk Dreams' Collection.

There is a great mix of interesting elements in this collection - you could so easily create a card for a female or a male, a layout or off-the-page project.  The butterflies are like no other I have seen before, so I just had to have a play with them.  Along with each collection I also like to try new techniques, so I experimented with multi-coloured pigment inks and clear embossing powder.

I hope it inspires you to give it a go

The components used for this project

Here I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder onto heat resistant acetate.  On the butterfly stamp, I combined different coloured pigment inks then I added clear embossing powder to highlight the detail.  I also created another added interest.

All the elements prepped and ready for assembly. 
My card size is  4 1/8" x 5 7/8" (1/4 of an A4 sheet).
My matting piece is 1/8" smaller on all sides.  The peeled paint paper was cut to the exact length of the matt piece.  The Mesh Die was cut from the glitter card -I kept a few of the circle off-cuts.  The butterfly and cogs were from the same patterned paper.

I attached the pieces to the card with a mix of glue, double-sided tape and foam tape.  After every piece was in place I tucked and glued some aqua/blue sisal fibres and some self-adhesive mesh plasters tape under the butterfly.
